Being disagreeable

Unlike in other areas of life (politics, law, media), scientists must disagree without being disagreeable. We argue about who is right and who is wrong. And we do so without creating enemies or divides. To achieve this, we first agree on the facts. It is critical to the scientific process.

Just as we cannot learn without feedback, knowledge cannot progress without honest peer review.
