Frequently Asked Questions

Prepare for your first visit.

  • We have a beautiful space on the second floor of West Acton Villageworks. You’ll find us directly above Acton Coffee House and True West Brewery in Unit 206B. Take a right off the stairs/elevator and through the public art gallery.

Parking: There is street level parking in the front of the building or additional parking underneath the building with elevator access available on all floors.

  • The first session sets the stage for your recovery. You’ll get 90 minutes of one-on-one time with our physical therapist. Expect a comprehensive evaluation to identify the causes of your injury and contributing factors. You and your therapist will create a personalized rehabilitation plan, including exercises to perform at home. The session will conclude with a discussion on the frequency and overall strategy of your treatment to ensure a return to your daily activities.

  • Wear whatever you are comfortable in. Generally, our clients wear athletic clothing.

Our treatments often include manual therapy/therapeutic massage and exercise. So, since you will be moving around during your session, please wear clothes that can move well with you.

  • No referral is needed. The state of Massachusetts allows direct access to physical therapists. If you plan to submit to insurance for reimbursement, please contact your insurance company to determine if a referral is required.

  • We accept cash, check, and credit card.

You can also pay with your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) through your employer.

About our out-of-network model

  • As an out-of-network provider, we do not have a contract with your insurance company. This allows us to provide transparent, preventative, and flexible care to meet all of your needs without arbitrary visit limits or hidden costs. However, you may still be eligible for reimbursement from your insurance company. Please see below for more information.

  • Most of our clients receive at least partial reimbursement. We will give you a detailed “superbill” at the end of every visit. This provides you with the information required by your insurance company to submit for out-of-network reimbursement. Every insurance plan has a different process. We recommend contacting your insurance company for details regarding requirements for reimbursement. Use this guide to help you through the process.

  • We believe in transparency and truly personalized care. A complete list of our prices can be found on our Services page. Every person and situation is unique. Therefore, during the evaluation, you and your physical therapist with collaboratively develop your individualized plan, including frequency, duration, and estimated cost of services.

Under the No Surprises Act, if you do not have health insurance or do not plan to submit for insurance reimbursement, we will provide you with a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of how much our services will likely cost. If you would like to request a GFE before scheduling, please call (978) 274-2090 or email us at sarah@live4pt.com.
