Brains and Sprains

The brain and spinal cord are the directors of sensorimotor control. Research in the past two decades has popularized the fact that sensorimotor control determines the behaviors and biomechanical faults contributing to, or resulting from, ACL injury.

Further, the sensorimotor system is embodied within the rapidly changing environment. But, we don’t have the tools to research this directly.

A deep reflection on the complex mechanisms influencing musculoskeletal rehabilitation will help to define the scope of the problem. Stay tuned for an introduction to the many interconnected features of sensorimotor control we’ll need to consider.
